Black [hemp] History: Understanding the Integral Role of African Americans in Hemp and Agriculture



On Feburary 16th, 2020 the Kentucky Hemp Heritage Alliance and the Heritage Hemp Trail partnered with the Hopewell Museum in Paris, Kentucky to host a special Black History Month program highlighting the integral role of African Americans in Kentucky agriculture and hemp.


The program featured presentations by Dr. Andrew Patrick, Associate Director of the Social Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SEED) Center and Assistant Professor of History at Centre College, and Ashley C. Smith, co-founder of Black Soil: Our Better Nature.
